Dragon Cult

Ecology

  Troglodyte

Personality: Troglodytes are a warlike race of carnivorous reptilian humanoids. They hate men above all other creatures and often launch bloody raids on human communities in search of food and steel.

Physical Description: Troglodytes or Trogs stand about 6 ft. tall, are covered in roughened leathery scales, and have a toothy lizard-like head. Males are easily distinguished from females by the fin crest that runs across their heads and down their necks. Coloration for both sexes varies due to the troglodytes chameleon-like ability to change skin tones, but grayish brown is most common.

Relations: Trogs get along well with other reptilian races like Kobolds, Lizardmen, and Draglodytes. They do not get along with anyother race of humanoids. They usuaaly sacrafice other types of humanoids to their draconian gods.

Alignment: Trogs are usually some type of evil, however player characters can be any alignment.

Lands: Troglodytes usually live underground. However they will live in any area in which their Dragon gods live.

Religion: Troglodytes worship Dragons as living dieties.

Language: Trogs speak draconian and common. Trogs characters can also choose from Bugbear/Hobgoblin, Atlantean, Giant

Names:

Adventurers: Trogs become adventurers because of their lust for gold. They have the same lust for gold as their dragon gods.

Racial Traits:

  Draglodyte

Personality: Draglodytes (or Drags) are much more cruel then their cousins the Troglodytes. They act more like dragons and are much more sophisticated then Trogs.

Physical Description: They are also much larger then the Trogs. They are usually about 9ft tall and are much wider then the troglodytes. Their scales are usually the same color as their dragon parents. They have wings and larger claws and teeth.

Relations: Drags see themselves as superiors to all other races except for dragons. They will attack any other humanoid on sight if they have the advantage.

Alignment: Drags are usually the same alignment as their dragon parent.

Lands: Drags always live in the same environment as their race of dragon.

Religion: Drags also worship Dragons as Gods.

Language: Drags speak Draconian and common.

Names:

Adventurers: Drags will become adventures for the same reason that dragons do for the pursuit of riches.

Racial Traits:

Location

   Members of this tribe will be located by where the dragon which the worship lives. So If they worship Black dragons they will live in a marsh, blue dragon devoties will live in a desert, Green dragon devoties in the forest, red dragon devoties in the mountains, and white dragon devoties will live in the cold lands up north.

History

   The tribeman do not have a written history and they take what ever the dragon says of the past to be the truth.

Politics

Government

  The dragon cults are a tribal community. The tribe is ruled by a chieftian who is the best warrior of the tribe. This is always a Draglodyte because of their physcial superiority due to the dragon blood flowing in their vains.

Social Class

  Draglodytes are the leaders of the the tribe because they are the strongest and smartest.

  Troglodytes are treated well but are not highly respected in the tribe.

Technology

Armor

   The tribeman do not use any armor because of their scales.

Weapons

   The tribeman usually use spears or their claws and teeth.

Economics

   The tribeman have the same love for gold and treasure that Dragons have and will horde it much of the same way.

Religion

Duties

  The priest must sacrafice a virgin humanoid once a month to the dragon.

Dire Forest Tribes

Ecology

  Bugbears

Personality: Bugbears are aggresive hunters and will attack any humanoid who is smaller then them which intrude on their land.

Physical Description: Bugbears are large and very muscular, standing 7' tall. their hides range from light yellow to yellow brown and their thick coarse hair varies in color from brown to brick red. Tough vaguely humanoid in appearance , bugbears seem to contain the blood of some large carmivore. Their eyes recall those of some savage bestial animal, being greenish white with red pupils, while their ears are wedge shaped, rising from the top of their heads. A bugbears mouth is full of long sharp fangs.

  Bugbears have a nose much like that of a bear with the same fine sense of smell. It is this feature which earned them their name, despite the fact that they are not relted to bears. Their tough hide and long sharp nails also make them resemble bears.

Relations: Bugbears live in the same tribes as Hobgoblins and get along very well with them.

Alignment: Bugbears are ussualy Chaotic Evil. Player Characters can be any alignment.

Lands: Bugbears live deep in the Dire Forest. They make their homes in caves and roughly built huts.

Religion: Bugbears usually worship Moribund.

Language: The Bugbears language is a foul sounding mixture of gestures, grunts and snarls which leads many to underestimate their intelligence.

Names:

Adventurers: Bugbears become adventurers because they are a race of aggrasive warriors.

Racial Traits:

  Hobgoblins

Personality: Hobgoblins are a fierce humanoid race tat wage a perpetual war with other humanoid races. They are intelligent, organized, and aggresive.

Physical Description: The typical hobgoblin is a burly humanoid standing 6.5' tall. Their hairy hides range from dark reddish-brown to dark gray. Their faces show dark red or red-orange skin. Large males have blue or red noses. Hobgoblin eyes are either yellowish or dark brown while their teeth are yellow. Their garments tend to be brightly colored, often bold, blood red. Any leather is tinted black. Hobgoblin weaponry is kept polished and repaired.

Relations: Hobgoblins get along very well with Bugbears and see them as brothers. They hate elves with a passion.

Alignment: Most Hobgoblins are Lawful Evil however player characters can be any alignment.

Lands: Hobgoblins live in the Dire Forest where they can get dire wolves for mounts.

Religion: Hobgoblins usually worship Cur.

Language: Hobgoblins language is much more pleasent sounding then that of the bugbears, but is still very harsh compared to Atlantean.

Names:

Adventurers: Hobgoblins become adventurers because of their lust for blood and combat.

Racial Traits:

Location

   This tribe dwells in the Dire Forest. This forest gets it's name from the fact that many dire animals live in the forest. The tribe uses these animals as allies and as food.

History

  They have no written history.

Politics

Warriors/Hunter

  Warriors are the people who are considered to be the most valuable. They are also the people who can use their power the easiest to push people around. In most tribes the leaders are the warriors.

Farmers

  These are males who do not go out and hunt for food and they also do not fight in battle. They are treated very harshly and are walked all over.

Women

  Women are considered a commodity by most tribes of Stabiae. They are traded like a person would trade cattle. Women are considered useless, except for reproduction.

Technology

Armor

  The tribemen use mainly animal hide for armor and wood for shields. But they will steal armor from other societies and wear it.

Weapons

  These tribe men will use any thing they find as a weapon. They favor morningstars and long swords.

Transportation

  The tribman have developed a system of riding dire wolves into combat.

Religion

Creation

  In the begining all life forms were swallowed by a great dragon. And there all of the tribemen lived, in pain and without light. Then one day a cunning warrior, named Cur, stepped foward to lead an assault against the dragon. Main of the tribemen were afraid to confront the dragon for he was to powerful, all except for two members of the tribe Moribund who had the strength of 30 tribemen and Virga a cunning witch. Cur lead the assault on the dragon. The plan was for Moribund to hold the dragons mouth closed while Cur cut out it's throat with and enchanted blade given to him by Virga. The paln did not work perfectly to plan all three of the tribmen were hit with the immortal flame of the dragon before Cur could finish cutting open the throat of the dragon. This however made them all immortal. Then the throat of the dragon was thrown into the sky and that became the sun. Then the dragons body became the world.

Moribund

   Moribund is known through out the tribes as the strongest bugbear to ever have lived.

Cur

   Cur rode a wolf into his battle against the dragon. He noticed that wolves worked well with other wolves that they would also work well with the Tribmen.

Virga

  It is Virgas duty to keep the dragon from coming back to life by feeding it the unworthy dead. Tribemen who are not brave will be feed to the dragon, while brave ones will be brought to live in the halls of Moribund and Cur.

Ecology

  Grimlock

Personality: Grimlocks will only eat raw flesh of huanoids, vastly perferring humans to all others.

Physical Description: Grimlocks have thick, scaly, grey skin and long black, filthy hair. Their teeth are white and extremely sharp. Their eyes are blank white orbs. Grimlocks are totally blind, but have highly developed senses of smell and hearing. teir sensitive ears and noses combine to allow them to distinguish objects and creatures within 20', just as well as if they were able to see.

Relations: Grimlocks are ruled by Medusas and Mind Flayers. They get along with mind flayers because they will eat the bodies of the mind flayers brainless victims.

Alignment: Grimlocks are usually Neutral Evil.

Lands: Grimlock live in vast cavern complexes in mountainous areas. They are well adapted to these environ.

  Medusa

Personality:

Physical Description: Medusas are female humanoids with swarming snakes for hair. The typical medua has a pale-skined, very shapely woman's form. They stand 5 to 6 ft tall with the snakes adding up to another foot. At distances of up to 30ft a medusa would be confused with a normal woman. Their red-glowing eyes are visible up to 30ft. At 20ft a medusa is seen for what she is a hrrid creature with snakes for hair.

Personality:

Physical Description: Minotaurs are huge, well over 7ft, and quite broad and muscular. They have the head of a bull but the body of a human male. Their fur is brwon to black while their body coloring varies as woud a normal human's.

  Harpies

Personality: Harpies are wicked avian beasts that prey upon neraly all creatures but prefer the flesh of humans and demihumans.

Physical Description: harpies have the bodies of vultures but the upper torsos and heads of women. Their human features are youthful, but hideous, with frayed unkept hair and decaying teeth. A fouyl odor surrounds all harpies and that which they touch. Harpies never bathe nor clean themselves in any way. Harpies are about 6 feet tall.
