Two Alarm Chili Kit =================== This is the recipe from the prepackaged 2 Alarm Chili Kit. Ingredients ----------- - 2 lbs Ground or Cubed Meat - 8 oz can of Tomato Sauce - 2 8 oz cans of Water - 1 3/4 tsp Salt, optional - 2 tsp Cumin - 1 tsp Oregano - 2 tsp Onion Powder - 1 tsp Garlic Powder - 1 1/2 tsp Paprika, Spanish or Sweet - 7 Tbsp Chili Pepper - 0 (Mild), 3/4 (Medium) or 1 1/2(Hot) tsp Red Pepper - 4 1/2 tsp Masa Flour(subst 2 Tbsp smashed tortilla chips), optional ### Optional Ingredients - Chopped green peppers and onions, browned with ground meat - 15 oz can of beans, drained - 15 oz can of diced tomatoes, drained - Shredded cheese, garnish - Sour cream, garnish Directions ---------- 1. Brown meat. Drain Fat. 2. Add remaining ingredients except Masa Flour and garnishes. 3. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until meat is tender. 4. For a thicker chili, Stir Masa Flour into 1/4 cup warm water. Then, mix into chili and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. 5. Serve with garnishes. Notes ----- I actually like to use a 28 oz can of diced or crushed tomatoes instead of the sauce and water. I measured the contents of the packages to 1/4 tsp. I estimated a 2:1 ratio of the combined cumin/oregano and onion/garlic powder. They measured: - 3 tsp Combined Cumin and Oregano - 2 1/2 tsp Combined Onion and Garlic Powder Just Chili ========== Ingredients ----------- - 2 lbs Ground or Cubed Meat - 2 Medium Onions, Diced - 1 Bell Pepper, Diced - 2 Tbsp Diced Garlic - 1 tsp Cilantro or Oregano - 1/2 tsp Cinnamon - 7 Tbsp Paprika, Spanish or Sweet - 1 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes - 1 1/2 tsp Red Pepper/Cayenne - 28 oz can of Crushed Tomato - 15 oz can of Beans, drained ### Optional Ingredients - 1/2 cup corn - 4 1/2 tsp Masa Flour(subst 2 Tbsp smashed tortilla chips), optional - Shredded cheese, garnish - Sour cream, garnish Directions ---------- 1. Brown meat. 2. Add Peppers, Onions and Garlic and saute until tender. 3. Add remaining ingredients except Masa Flour and garnishes. 4.
