Cinnabon Rolls
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes
Serves: makes about 20 rolls
Ingredients
- 1/2 C (125ml) Warm Water
- 2 pkg Dry Yeast
- 2 T Sugar
- 1 pkg Vanilla Pudding Mix (3 1/2 oz 105g)
- 1/2 C (115g) Margarine, melted
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Salt
- 6 C (840g) Flour
Filling
- 1 C (225g) Butter or Margarine, soften
- 2 C (500ml) Brown Sugar, packed
- 8 tsp Cinnamon (perhaps less for fresh)
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 8 oz (24og) Cream Cheese
- 1/2 C (115g) Margarine
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 3 C (338g) Confectioner's Sugar
- 1 T Milk
Procedure
- To make frosting, mix all ingredients until smooth.
- In a bowl combine water, yeast and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Set aside.
- In large bowl, take pudding mix and prepare according to package directions.
- Add margarine, eggs and salt. Mix well.
- Then add yeast mixture. Blend.
- Gradually add flour; knead until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise until doubled.
- Punch down dough and let rise again.
- Then roll out on floured board to 34x21 inch size.
- Take 1 cup (225g) soft butter and spread over surface.
- In bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Sprinkle over top.
- Roll up very tightly.
- With knife, put a notch every 2 inches (5 cm) then cut along the notch.
- Place on lightly greased cookie sheet 2 inches (5 cm) apart.
- With your hand, lightly press down on each roll.
- Cover and let rise until double again.
- Bake at 350F (180C) 15-20 minutes. Remove when they start to turn golden. Make sure not to over bake.
- Frost warm rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting
Enjoy while warm with friends and a nice cup of coffee.
