Rice Cooker Paella
The other day I made the Goya Paella kit https://www.amazon.com/Goya-Paella-Yellow-Seafood-Dinner/dp/B08DL85CWF by just tossing everything in my rice cooker and letting it go. It was a pretty good, very simple meal. The kit was a bag of seasoned rice and a can of flavored seafood in oil. I want to try to replicate some of its attributes with my standard ingredients.
Below I will put a pretty straight forward rice cooking recipe. Though you can just toss it all in your rice cooker.
Ingredients
- 4 oz seafood (mussels, squid, clams, crab, salmon, tuna) (1 3-5 oz can)
- 1 c rice, short-grained
- 1.75 c water
- 2 T olive oil
- 3 t turmeric (or 1 thread saffron)
- 0.5 t garlic powder
- 0.5 t salt (or MSG)
- 1 t onion powder
- 1.5 t paprika
- 1.5 c vegetable (peas, diced peppers, tomatoes, onions, carrots, etc)
Procedure (if you don't have a rice cooker)
Bring Water to boil.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Boil 1 min.
Cover, reduce heat to low.
Cook for 20 min or until water is absorbed.
